021 Gallery holds Fanhee Lee’s solo exhibition “Argument” from Mar 29 to May 13, 2018.

In this <Argument> exhibition, the artist introduce about 20 paintings.

Lee Hwan-hee, who majored in sculpture, opened his first solo exhibition with paintings and at the second solo exhibition in 2017, he also introduced sculptures with paintings.

The artist focuses on the limitations and rules of the media, which he uses, crossing over various surfaces of painting and sculpture. This work is the playful attitude of the material which provides the characteristic to the object itself which is emphasized on the surface without emphasizing the subjective characteristic of the artist’s emotion or expression method.

In addition, the image circulation system, the basis of the artist’s work, is a self-replicating pattern in which the subject, element, color, and shape that the artist deals with in one work affect the next work and reproduce the image by transforming the existing images.

21 Gallery’s exhibition <Argument> focuses on how the artist'’s self-referential characteristics are explored and expanded.
