021 Gallery’s exhibition “AXIS” is the annual project for young artists.
It aims to discover new artists who will lead the new art form as an axis of contemporary art and to introduce them widely. At “AXIS 2018”, 20 works of Kim Ra-yeon, Kim Soo-ho, Kim Jong-gyu, Sung Tae-hyang and Lim Do-hyeon presenting their new visions through various media will be introduced.
Kim Ra-yeon summons the traces of what are disappearing, have been forgotten and erased in the city landscape and wants to hear the stories of them.
Kim Su-ho looks beyond the landscape by looking for the space of memory arising from instability and absence in everyday life and the images remembered by the space of reality.
Kim Jong-kyu honestly draws the shape of the tree against the light at sunset with the intense contrast of Chinese ink and white margins.
Seong Tae-hyang shows the reality of invisible relations, in which the material imbalance in our society leads to a personal imbalance in the heterogeneous combination of objects.
Yim Do-hyun focuses on the act of sewing. Looking at the act of sewing as an effort and process of accomplishing their desire, he expresses the process of making efforts made by those who have dreams to accomplish the desire through the act of sewing.
