021 Gallery
holds Fanhee Lee’s solo exhibition “FUGA.” This exhibition is the artist’s
second exhibition at 021 Gallery, after the “Argument” exhibition in 2018.
The artist aims to create complete
structures, “to create objects that are poised.” Such goal of the artist is
naturally accompanied by the journey of exploring the concepts of
object(structure), painting(property), screen(media), shape(direction) and
suggests an objective concept of ‘being poised.’
The artist, who looks for the intrinsic
value of visual art in shapes, puts the formative motifs at the front and
delivers them through paintings, sculptures, and etc. Whereas he showed various
motifs through one media(painting) in the “Argument” exhibition, in the “FUGA”
exhibition, he repeatedly shows a single motif through the variations of a
single media(painting) and delivers his abstract formative art.
In this exhibition, Kelva, which expresses
the original form of the motif, and five works, which became the starting point
of the motif, and the form of the motif are shown in variations. The exhibition
includes the new works, which include four pieces that focus on the structural
variations of the motif, and the old works of the artist.
