Bomin Kim shines light on landscapes from a historical perspective through paintings, drawings, and murals.
In her works, the screen is composed so that the landscape of yesterday and that of today resonate beyond time; and history, events, and the present time zone are connected and visualized.
Rather than recording the landscape, she wanders in search of lost time in her own way of expressing the echo, remembers the unresponsive era, and images what might have happened, drawing the history of possibilities.

In this solo exhibition “The Foreign Country”, you can meet traces of her wanderings in the strange land of ‘history.
Focusing on the possibilities of the past and present as alternatives for the future, she presents her landscape paintings that unravel her recent interests, such as issues of history and perspectives, the history of distorted gaze, and post-colonial imagination.
